Slips, Trips and Falls

Slips, Trips and Falls (STFs) is a hazard in every workplace that employs people and so it is important that everyone understands how to prevent these types of incidents.


By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Identify common causes of slips, trips, and falls in the workplace.
  • Explain the importance of hazard identification, good housekeeping, and safe individual behaviour in preventing incidents.
  • Describe the legal responsibilities of employers and employees under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 in relation to slips, trips, and falls.
  • Apply practical strategies to minimise the risk of slips, trips, and falls in their own work environment.
