Construction Safety 101
Businesses of all sizes have a responsibility to manage the health and safety of their employees and anyone else who might be affected by their work activities. Accidents and injuries in the workplace affect thousands of workers every year and have a serious impact on business. Unfortunately, the HSE statistics gathered every year show how the Construction industry has a statistically higher number of incidents than other industries in the UK.
Following simple techniques can go a long way in reducing the risk of incidents and the injuries they cause.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the importance of wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) on construction sites.
- Demonstrate the correct and safe use of construction equipment.
- Identify common causes of slips, trips, and falls, and apply measures to prevent them.
- Recognise fire hazards in construction environments and implement strategies to eliminate or reduce risks.
